TriMark Announces Mental Health Days in 2022

Back to Newsroom

As we enter our third year of working from home, we’re reevaluating what we stand for and rethinking how we want to run our company. Starting with how we protect—and nourish—our mental health.

Every day, TriMarkers hustle for our clients, creating smart, data-driven solutions for complex marketing challenges. In a normal world, this can lead to some level of burnout. That, combined with a global pandemic, remote work and children home from school, results in more stress triggers and less opportunities to escape them.

The challenges of this virtual working world are impacting everyone. In fact, Deloitte reported that even those who are passionate about their jobs have been affected, with 64% saying they are now frequently stressed at work.

So, how can TriMark offer support?

We’re excited to announce that we are implementing mental health days throughout 2022. On these days, we will break at the same time. No emails or phone calls. It’s a chance to step away from our screens and devote energy to what uniquely inspires and rejuvenates us.

Mental Health Days vs. Paid Time Off

Whether it’s travel restrictions canceling our vacation plans or struggling to step away when other team members are online, many of us have fallen into the “always-on” trap.

According to Apollo Technical, 65% of remote workers reported working more hours than they had while working in the office.

While we considered unlimited / extra PTO days to offer more time away for our team, we believe that time off is most effective when done in unison. It’s not about offering more time off, but rather intentional time off that focuses on mental wellbeing as a critical aspect of our culture.

Investing in our people is our responsibility.

Our people are our difference, and we’ve had the privilege of adding 21 new staff members in 2021. Caring for and protecting them from burnout is what shapes the TriMark culture.

We’re excited to evaluate this new strategy over the coming months as we challenge the status quo and set our people up to be at their best.

Take a mental health day with us!

Our first all-company mental health day is Friday, January 28, with four more to come in 2022 and seven more all-company mental health half days to come throughout the summer months. On these days, we invite our clients and fellow businesses to join us in cultivating a happier, well-balanced workforce.
